Field Trips

Rules

1. Learn the rules of the museum:

• Use walking feet.
• Use your inside voice.
• Share with others and return items to their proper places.
• Take turns at exhibits.
• Respect the museum property.
• Food and beverages are not permitted in the museum.
• Follow the directions of the museum staff.

2. Each field trip group should be divided into subgroups with the following recommended ratio: 1 adult per 5 children. Each subgroup should start the museum visit from a different exhibit area to prevent overcrowding.

3. Please establish a time for your group to meet at the end of your visit prior to entering the museum.
4. Children and adults should wear identification. Nametags are discouraged for safety concerns. However, we do recommend each child have visible identification that shows school, teacher’s name, and school telephone number.

5. Adults should interact with children at the exhibits. Encourage questions, do not just give answers. Follow the children’s lead. Allow them to set
the pace.

6. If you have any questions about museum exhibits, please locate a museum staff member and he or she will be happy to help you.

7. Remember to take artwork and personal belongings home with you.
