Checklist
Select chaperones for the trip and plan an orientation meeting for the chaperones using the Chaperone Guidelines (You may make copies of these guidelines to distribute to the chaperones). We request a ratio of 1 adult per 5 children.
Gift Shop Information: Our gift shop carries an assortment of items priced under $5.00. It is the option of each teacher whether children may bring money with them to make purchases. We would like to offer the following suggestions:
- Chaperones must accompany children in the gift shop.
- Encourage your groups to space their shopping time throughout the
trip to avoid a last minute rush which will complicate scheduled bus departures.
- Chaperones need to assist children in choosing items within their
price range.
Discuss with your driver plans for dropping off children and for parking your busses. All bus drop offs must be made on the Office Depot side of the building. To ensure the safety of the children, the bus doors should be on the curb.
A confirmation packet will be mailed to you approximately 2-3 weeks prior to your scheduled visit. Please look over this information to ensure it is accurate.
Kindly give 72 hours notice if you must cancel your trip. Cancellations made less than 72 hours in advance will be charged a $25 cancellation fee.
Museum staff will greet your group at the front door. Your group leader should visit the admission desk with attendance details and payment while the group is given an orientation.
Payment must be completed on the day of your visit. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, checks made payable to The Children’s Museum of South Carolina, or purchase order. Please note that we are unable to accept credit cards.
It is suggested that all children wear school identification while visiting The Children’s Museum of South Carolina.
